If we did not have Photoshop all our pictures would be ugly. It's the plain and simple truth. Your camera makes a big difference also, but I am not the expert on picture taking, only on picture editing. Right now all we are going to do is put an action on our picture. First open up Photoshop and open your picture. Then make sure that in the right top corner right under the close button make sure that Photoshop is set on Photography (that took me a very painful 10 minutes to figure out) then you will see a play button click on it and your actions will pop up. For this pic I used the vintage action and just played with it. I deleted some layers and turned the Opacity down on some others....... and eventually you end up with something like this:
