Driving day 2

O hello friends and peace be with you.... We have indeed had quite the drive! A couple of hours after the vomiting attack given by Brig (aka super gross person who doesn't regulate what he eats) I suddenly woke up in the most akward of positions which was my legs cross legged up against the window and my head hanging off the seat where I should have been sitting. When I came to which with a quick brain like mine takes about 00000.1 seconds my sister in the front seat gives me the glare of all death. My immediate reaction...take a chill pill lady. Right as I came up with this most clever remark I hear a terrible mind crushing ear piercing sound.......which was none other than a police siren. Now I have never been inside a car that was pulled over by the police and I wasn't a out to start so I hopped out of that car and ran the rest of the 400 miles to Utah! Hahahahahah.....kidding anyways apparently our trailer was missing a license plate and the lights weren't working. Long story short we did NOT get a ticket ( which is good because that would have been shameful) and the officer left us alone... BUT right before leaving he felt it necessary to mention that even though it was late we should all remain buckled. Now let me say this loud and clear I WAS BUCKLED!!!! It may have looked differently bur it is possible to be upside down and buckled. Anyways back to what's not important we went to a hotel that had stone stairs which I face planted into because I thought a gunman was going to shoot me in the back and I accidentally over thought the whole thing and fell on my face! We slept in then got in the car and drove to Utah and came to my dear aunt and uncles house and went to Utah famous cafe rio and then I read some fireman romance and then we went to sleep. The End

P.S. if a police officer happens I read this just pretend like you didn't just read this post and remember that I always buckle .

P.P.S. if cafe rio is not "just a Utah thing" I don't really care... Take your statistics elsewhere.., thanks

This post was brought to you none other then by Ari Johnson you should feel privileged to have read this post as she is so busy she didn't have time to even sign her name.

This post was also brought to you by Oreos this is not a paid advertisement but it should be because Ari likes them!

And for your own personal enjoyment here is a picture of Ari eating grapefruit.... Your so very welcome

As you can see Ari loVE car rides ...motion sickness and everything baby!

Epic Road Trip 2013

I think we might be crazy, but we've planned a summer of camping and travel. Parl is between jobs (officially starting Oct 1) and we are between houses, so why not take advantage of the situation and spend the summer traveling the country?

At least it sounded like a great idea last month...before we started packing.

Our plans:
Spend some time in UT with family and friends.
Glenn Beck's "Man in the Moon" event
6th Crossing and Martins Cove
Mt Rushmore
Winter Quarters
Independence
Nauvoo
Kirtland
Niagara Falls
Palmyra
Sharon, VT
New England States
Salem, Boston, Plymouth
Gettysburg, Hershey, Valley Forge, Philadelphia
Washington DC
Mt Vernon, Monticello, Jamestown, Williamsburg
North Carolina, South Carolina, Savanah, GA, Atlanta, GA
Memphis, TN, Little Rock, AR (Parl's Mission)
Houston, San Antonio, Austin, TX
Back to Utah to move into a home!

So, that's the plan.  Ten weeks of traveling. We'll see how things go. We're excited to travel!

Epic Road Trip Day 1

Last night was another late night (3am) and the day started early (6:30). Sleep was scant and restless. Parl hardly slept at all from aches and pains. I slept right on the carpet with my arms tucked into my sleeves. At least I removed my shoes before nodding off.

After a quick shower and final vacuum, we said a prayer of gratitude and protection, and drove away. What a relief, to be done packing, loading, and cleaning!

First up, breakfast at Del Taco with our good friends, the Irvings.

Second, lighten the load in the trailer by leaving behind some food storage we couldn't put on the moving trucks. (We'll have to retrieve this at the end of the summer. Food storage...a blessing and a curse!)

Third, head towards Utah.

It's been a long day in the car. Junk food, veggie Subway sandwiches, and chocolate pomegranates.

Lots of napping, Kid History, and some reading.

Parl is on a roll and is driving through Albuquerque on to Cortez, CO. And just when things are settling down...

Brig pukes!  Serves me right. Too much junk food. :(

Moving again...

We just finished 3 1/2 weeks of misery.  Thank goodness for friends and helpers. Our diet is shot, we are sleep deprived, we have many new aches and pains, and the littles are a bit crazy from having their life turned upside down. On the upside, we are taking a 10 week vacation. It's church history and US history for the entire summer! Now that we are on the road and all our stuff is loaded, we are excited to travel. We are headed to UT for now. Wish we never had to move again!
